Twin wheel casters with threaded bolt: twin wheel swivel casters with threaded bolt i.e. stem can be inserted directly in an internal screw thread.  Threaded bolts are available in screw-thread M10 and M12 depending on the caster diameter.

Twin wheel casters with friction ring stem: twin wheel casters with friction ring stem are mainly usedfor working seats and office chairs. Friction ring stems are available in several diameters.

Twin wheel casters with bolt hole: twin wheel casters with bolt hole are available with pressed steel and nylon housing and can be mounted with a M10 or M12 screw.

Wheel lock  - the wheel lock of the twin wheel caster brakes both caster wheels . Depending on the series the lock works form-fitting or force-fitting. The stable and reliable mechanism offers safety and durability.

Directional lock - the directional lock locks the swivel in a fixed direction. This allows an optimal straight run like with a rigid caster.

Dual lock - the dual lock allows the selection of a directional lock or a total lock by operating  the dual brake pedal

Total lock - the total lock locks both wheel and swivel bearing. The swivel bearing is form-fitting secured against twisting; the wheel lock occurs either by form-fitting or force-fitting depending on the series

Central locking system - the central locking operation system enables the total lock or directional lock by operating a brake pedal. The switch mechanism is transmitted at the same time to all wheels thanks to a special stem

Why can twin wheel casters and twin wheel swivel casters be manufactured with reduced mounting height other than single wheel casters?

Whenever casters with reduced mounting height are necessary, twin wheel swivel casters are the first choice. In twin wheel casters with reduced mounting height the swivel bearing is set between the wheels; as a result the mounting height is reduced in comparison to single wheel casters. If the design requires a reduced mounting height, twin wheel swivel casters are particularly suitable.

The mounting height of a single wheel caster with a wheel diameter of 100mm Ø  amounts between 121mm and 139mm depending on the series.

On the contrary a twin wheel swivel caster with a wheel diameter of 100mm Ø can be designed with a mounting height starting from 102mm.

As a consequence the use of twin wheel casters is always recommended when casters with reduced mounting height are necessary. For instance hospital beds and nursing home beds are often equipped with twin wheel casters. This enables a lower lying position and getting in or out of bed becomes more comfortable. Thus the use of twin wheel casters offers more convenience and safety.
