Castor types.

The optimal castor for every application.

Castors keep the world turning. For every mobility need, there are suitable solutions.

Accordingly, our extensive product range has specific castors for an extremely broad spectrum of tasks and industries. Take advantage of our many years of experience in the design of market-oriented products. And if our diverse range of standard products doesn’t offer you what you need, we’ll be glad to develop individualised product solutions for you.

Swivel castor

Our swivel castors are an all-rounder for all applications – from mobile shelves to hospital beds.

These nimble and smooth running castors keep even large and heavy equipment safely and securely on track.

Twin wheel castor

Our twin swivel castor offers high load bearing capacity and mobility. The two-wheel design facilitates handling and the displacement of larger, heavier products. The perfect castor for all devices, apparatus and furniture.

Choose between directional and total locks – or also centrally operating wheel lock.

Rigid castor

Rigid castors are developed for stable, straight line movement. Their ability to run smoothly even at high speeds is particularly advantageous. Our rigid castors are always part of series with compatible swivel castors.

The combination of swivel and rigid castors is an appropriately economical solution to achieve manoeuvrability in all types of equipment, trolleys and apparatus.

Wheel bearings.

The bearing is what gets the castor rolling.

The quality, smooth running, and load-bearing capacity of the wheels essentially depend on the wheel bearings.

Our plain bearings and precision-ball bearings made according to DINstandards give our castors and wheels the security and assurance you expect for your mobile equipment.

Plain bearings

The simple and cost-effective wheel bearing for low speeds and short distances.

Our plain bearings are durable, impact-resistant, reliable, and practically maintenance-free.

Precision ball bearings

Our high-quality precision grooved ball bearings ensure extremely smooth operation, high load bearing capacity and longevity as well as minimal rolling resistance, even with heavy loads.

Fixtures.

Stable connections for flexible mobility.

Select from our diverse range of fixtures to maintain secure connections between your equipment and our castors. Our fixtures are as unique as the requirements of your equipment. The choice of this interface often determines the quality and functionality of your product.

Our fixing elements are ideally adapted to standard equipment and can be installed quickly and easily, whereby the castor must be fastened flush with the equipment to achieve maximum load-bearing capacity.

Bolt hole

A connecting element, e.g. a bolt, passes through the bolt hole to fasten the castor to the device. The load-bearing capacity determines the choice of connection.

Threaded stem

Matched to a threaded or smooth hole in the equipment where the castor is to be attached, the threaded stem is either screwed in or inserted and fastened with a nut.

Both the length and the thread can be adapted to your requirements. There are three types of threaded fixtures: the threaded pin, the threaded bolt with lock nut, and the Allen screw inserted through a through-hole.

Mounting plate

Plate fixtures are especially stable thanks to their large contact area and four attachment points.

The robust and easily installed fixture securely combines high load-bearing capacity with excellent mobility.

Friction ring stem

The bolt is inserted precisely into the corresponding opening of the equipment or the matching adapter. The integrated friction ring secures the castor in place.

Plain stem with transverse bore

For secure attachment to equipment using a stable transverse screw connection.

Plain stems for central locking

Plain stems are used only with central locking systems. The locking mechanism is actuated via a hex head eccentric.

Expansion sleeve

The expansion sleeve is installed only on the 10 mm bolt hole version. The expansion sleeve reduces the load-bearing capacity of the castors.

Locks.

Security and stability in a single step.

No less important than the castors’ frictionless mobility are the stability, precision and security of their locks. The practical requirements of the specific equipment and its castors determine the choice between total lock, wheel brake, and directional lock.

With specialised solutions such as the centrally operating wheel lock, the dual lock, or our central locking system (ZFs) , we offer a full range of options to satisfy all your requirements. On request, we can always create customised solutions for locks as well.

Total lock

When the total lock is engaged, both the wheel and the swivel bearing are locked. This system locks at two locations.

The swivel bearing is interlocked to prevent rotation and the wheel is locked either by mechanical interlock or friction-lock, depending on the series.

Wheel brake

The wheel – or both wheels in the case of twin-wheel castors – is interlocked or friction-locked, depending on the series, by a stable mechanism designed for high reliability and long service life.

Directional lock

Directional locks maintain the swivel castor in a fixed direction. Like a rigid castor, this provides excellent straight-line tracking.

Centrally operating wheel lock

This system allows the user to operate either a total lock or a total-and-directional lock on a centralised basis with a single actuation of the pedal.

When the central locking function is actuated, it uses mechanical linkage to transmit the selected mode to all castors simultaneously via the switching mechanism in the stem.

Dual lock

This concept combines the total and directional lock.
