Stem for central locking

Central locking devices make use of a specific stem fitting. These are used in high-quality hospital beds and clinic beds. The locking mechanism of the hospital bed casters is located in the hollow stem and is usually operated via a hexagonal cam.

 

The cam position controls the three functions of the caster:

    freely movable swivel caster
    fixed caster (direction lock activated) or
    completely blocked (total locking)
